Mission

Technology should sharpen thinking, not replace it.

Project Omega is an independent initiative exploring how people — especially young people — can stay aware, capable, and in charge of their own decisions while interacting with increasingly intelligent machines.

Intelligent tools are arriving faster than most of us can form habits around them. They answer before we finish thinking, remember before we try to, and decide what we see next. The question Omega keeps returning to is simple: how do we stay active thinkers in their company?

We are interested in the skills that make that possible — orientation, working memory, reflection, critical thinking, and the ability to notice and name your own state of mind. Omega does not aim to replace any of that. It asks how technology could support it instead: scaffolding that steps back when you are ready, not assistance that quietly takes over.

We are early. That means listening before building, writing down what we learn as we go, and being honest about what we don't know yet.

A five-phase way forward.

A loose operating roadmap, each phase with a single objective. We do not move on until the previous one holds.

  1. 01

    Stabilisation

    Now

Listen first — read widely, ask questions, and define the problem before building.

  2. 02

    Translation

    Next

Turn what we hear into working notes and small, honest prototypes.

  3. 03

    Field trial

    Later

Test ideas carefully in real settings, only once they have earned it.

  4. 04

    Leverage

    Further out

Find light, ethical ways to sustain the work without selling attention.

  5. 05

    Ecosystem

    Long term

Grow slowly, and never depend on a single channel, school, or funder.
